Meet The Blogger // Sydney From Anchored In The South
Welcome back! Today for episode #3 of the Meet The Blogger series we will be meeting Sydney from Anchored In The South.
Thank you Sydney for agreeing to participate! I am really happy that I got to interview you! As always, don't forget to check out her social medias and blog listed below the post (seriously, check it out;).
Now let's get into it...
• Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your blog?
My name is Syd and I am currently studying Public Relations at Mississippi State University, and I'm originally from Chicago. I am the blogger behind Anchored in the South, a fashion and lifestyle blog.
• How did you first get into blogging? Who/what inspired you to do so?
I first started as a book blogger because I loved reading and was a total book worm. If I ever want a good laugh I'll go back to it, it's still on the inter-webs! But I decided that wasn't the niche I was fully interested in.
• How would you describe your blogging style?
I'm assuming you mean content, but either way, this has changed a lot over the years. I try to post things that not only do I enjoy writing about but what I think I would want to read. With that being said I publish content about fashion, college, traveling, faith, and my life!
• How long have you been blogging? What was the most challenging moment in your blogging journey so far?
I first started blogging in August 2014, which is beyond crazy to think about! During this three year journey, I have learned to not be ashamed of my blog. It took me a whole year before I told my mom about it, and now whenever I talk to her she says she was bragging about it to her co-workers! Not everyone will understand it, but those who do will love it! It might not have multitudes of views but it's my blog and brand that I created from scratch, and I love it!
• How do you continue to motivate yourself even through the rough times?
I take a step back from it all, and try not to force it! I'll go for a run, read a book, listen to music...there's no right formula but it happens to everyone!
• What do you think is the best strategy that worked well for you to get more traffic to your blog? What is your advice to other bloggers who are not seeing the statistics that they want?
This is one the most frustrating parts of blogging! There are lots of posts entitled 'How to Get Thousands of Views in Your First Week of Blogging', but it's rare that this happens. It takes time to build up a dedicated following, that can only be garnered through genuine posts and content.
• How do you manage time between your life and blogging life?
My college schedule doesn't leave much room for blogging, and goodness knows I haven't been the best at balancing it all in the past. However, I find that if blogging is something you enjoy and want to continue, you will then make the time for it.
• What has been the biggest difference in your life post-blogging?
If I had never started blogging, I most likely wouldn't have decided to go into Public Relations. And I would have missed out on some amazing partnerships and friendships!
• When you are not blogging, what would you most likely be doing?
I am a big fan of football & baseball so I'm usually always keeping up with all the stats and different players.
• Overall, are you happy with your decision to begin blogging? Where do you see yourself in the years to come?

I am 100% sure of my answer when I say YES! Blogging has become such a big part of my life and I'd like to keep it that way! I hope to one day write a book, travel to Europe, and maybe adopt a dog. But we'll see what the Lord has planned!
