This year I made a 2022 inspiration board along with my friends. On New Year's Eve, we presented them to each other to encourage one another throughout the new year. I loved this idea as, in previous years, I chose a word for the year but hadn't chosen one in a while. By making an entire inspiration board for the year I not only could expand on picking a word for the year but I would also have accountability in following through with what I put on it. If you have the chance to create a board for the new year with your friends you should! It's a lot of fun and it's never too late.
- Prosper – My word of the year for 2022 is prosper. My thoughts behind the word choice is to prosper (or flourish) throughout the year where God has me. With school, work, relationships, and beyond I want to fully step into where God has me and live abundantly in Him (John 10:10).
- Intentions – Throughout 2022 I want to be more simple, natural, intentional, and "set [my] mind on things above, not on earthly things" (Colossians 3:2). I want to apply these intentions in everything I do by living simply with materials, actions, thoughts, and what I use my time on. For example, I want to be frugal and not purchase things that I really don't need, I want to use what I already have, not fill my time with too many tasks or events, and enjoy the little things always. I want to be natural by using more natural products and unproccessed foods, not adorn things with unnecessary decor, take responsibility for my health and wellbeing, and delight in tradition. I want to be intentional with everything that I set my mind to and I want to live a disciplined lifestyle. Finally, in all things, I want to be Kindom-focused and not world or self-focused. I want to always set my mind on things above for the glory of Him.
- Florals/Neutral Color Palette – I chose the florals in the background and the neutral color palette to compliment my intention of living natural and simple. I want to enjoy the beauty around me and be thankful for His creation.
- Images – The images I included in the board represent my desire to take more pictures of the small (and big) moments in life, be intentional wth my belongings, embrace the beauty of femininity, implement natural products in my daily routines, and remember the joys of living a quiet life.
- Icons – Lastly on my board, I included three icons for some activities that I want to do throughout the year. I want to journal and write more, read more (most importantly, the Bible), and learn more cooking, baking, and preserving skills.
